Student Accomodation Project in Birmingham

Access Control

Loveday Street is a large student accommodation scheme in the West Midlands, Housing some 500 Students, Aegis were responsible for the design and installation of a Site wide Access Control System, Networked for control from the facilities management office located onsite.

Door Intercom

To accommodate visitors and third party users of the site, and to secure the block entrances to the flat clusters, the access control system is combined with a digital Video Intercom system, allowing residents the ability to qualify visitors to the block, before allowing them access.

Intruder Alarm

Aegis were also responsible for the installation of an in depth security system to the Management Offices, following the buildings risk assessment it was concluded that the building required an intruder alarm to deter and detect intruders, due to the nature of the site, its contents and the general security bias of the campus.

Automated Gates

Following assessments onsite of the requirements for powered access, Aegis also supplied and installed the automated operators for the Vehicle Entrance Gates onsite, these are integrated with the access control system to allow easy access for vehicles and management staff onsite.
