Walsh Western Case Study

Fast Track Design & Installation of £200k IP Surveillance and Detection System

Walsh Western is a large 320,000 sq ft warehouse located in the Midlands, this high value warehouse was fitted out in a mere 10 weeks, just one of the challenges facing Aegis when we won this prestigious contract, the site ships high value electronic goods to clients around the UK and Europe, Aegis initially provided a design concept to establish a complete internal and external perimeter detection system, one that protects the warehouse from physical attack to the fabric and, that also detects unauthorised access through the perimeter fence, in addition to this there are nearly 100 IP Surveillance cameras operating, these High specification cameras all record to system specific servers, the whole surveillance system is backed up by the network UPS units, therefore even in a major power failure, the surveillance continues. This state of the art solution ensures a system that is fully scalable, user friendly and easy to operate and maintain.

Intruder Alarm

Aegis were also responsible for the installation of an in depth security system to the Management Offices and General Warehouse areas, following the buildings risk assessment it was concluded that the building required an intruder alarm to deter and detect intruders, due to the nature of the site and its contents the system has been designed to prevent the possibility of collusion by using dual action procedures, meaning no one person can disarm any section of the system.

Automated Gates

Following assessments onsite of the requirements for powered access, Aegis also supplied and installed the automated operators for the Vehicle Entrance Gates onsite, these are integrated with the access control system to allow easy access for vehicles and management staff onsite.
